Our zeolite molecular sieve include molecular sieve 4A, molecular sieve 3A, molecular sieve 5A, molecular sieve 13X. So what is the different type of molecular sieve used for?The basic function of the zeolite molecular sieve is adsorbing water and drying the gas. Besides this, they could also adsorb the molecule selectively.

What’s molecular sieve used for? For detailed usage, we will introduce one by one.

Molecular sieve 4A
It will absorb in sequence of absorption rate, argon, krypton, xenon, ammonia, carbon monoxide, C2H4, C2H2, CH3OH, C2H5OH, CH3en2, CS2, CH3CL, CH3Br, and carbon dioxide.
1) Deep drying of air, natural gas, alkane and refrigerant.
2) Generation and purification of argon.
3) Static dehydration of electronic element, pharmaceutical and unstable materials.
4) Desiccant of paint, PU Plastic, dope and fuel etc.
5) Drying and removing of CO2 from natural gas, LPG, air, inert and atmospheric gases, etc.
6) Removal of hydrocarbons, ammonia and methanol from gas streams (ammonia syn gas treating)
7) Special types are used in the air break units of buses, trucks and locomotives.
8.Packed in small bags, it may be used simply as a packaging desiccant.

Molecular sieve 3A
Molecular Sieve 3A is mainly used to remove moisture and can be applied to liquefied and gaseous materials on the whole. The main uses are as follows.
1) Drying of refrigerants (e.g. R22, R134a etc)
2) Removing moisture in paint and PU Plastic
3) Drying of natural gas.
4) Cracked Gas Drying.
5) Static dehydration of insulating glass units, whether air filled or gas-filled.
6) Drying of highly polar compounds, such as methanol and ethanol.
7) Drying of unsaturated hydrocarbons (e.g. ethylene, propylene, butadien).
8) Drying of olefins drying, ethanol, etc.
9) Dehydration of many kinds of liquids (say ethanol) air, refrigerant , natural gas or methane , cracked gas, ethylene, ethyne, propylene or butadiene .

Molecular sieve 5A
It will absorb, in sequence of absorption rate, C3-C14, C2H5CL, C2H5Br, CH3L, C2H5NH2, CH2CL2CH2Br2, CHF2CL, CHF3, CF4, (CH3)NH2, B2H6CF2CL2, CHFCL2, and CF3CL.
Main absorbing target are carbon dioxide and moisture and it can absorb all the material whose molecular diameter is less than 5A.
1) Normal paraffin separating process.
2) Oxygen/hydrogen PSA (Pressure Swing Absorption) process.
3) Ethanol refinement (moisture, CO2, etc).
4) Refining SF6 refrigerant for power (removing moisture and hydrocarbon).
5) The strong ionic forces of the divalent calcium ion makes it an excellent adsorbent to remove water, CO2, H2S from sour natural gas streams, while mini missing COS formation. Light mercaptans are also adsorbed.
6) Separation of normal- and iso paraffin’s.
7 )Production of high purity N2, O2, H2 and inert gases from mixed gas streams
8) Static, (non-regenerative) dehydration of insulating glass units, whether air filled or gas-filled.

Molecular sieve 13X APG
Type 13X APG molecular sieve is specially designed to co-absorb CO2 and H2O for air cryo-separation industry. It has largeer capacity and faster adsorption speed for removal of CO2 and H2O to prevent the bed gelation, it is suitable for any air cryo-separation plants of any size and any types in the world.
Application
1) Air refining (removing CO2 and H2O).
2) Removal of mercaptans and hydrogen sulphide from natural gas using patented Zeochem technology.
3) Removal of mercaptans and hydrpogen sulphide from hydrocarbon liquid streams (LPG, butane, propane etc).
4) Air separation oxygen generation.
5) Special double glass (removing solvent and grease).

Molecular sieve 13X HP
Molecular Sieve HP is mainly used in PSA oxygen concentrator and oxygen concentrator device,and as well as the industrial PSA unit, with the characteristics of higher N2 adsorption capacity andN2 with O2 selectivity, easy desorption and etc.
